MATH 2311 Online - Spring 2014
Section 12890: Online
How the class will work: I will video my face to face classes which meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-2:30pm in SR 116.
(You are welcome to attend the face
to face class in person if you want.) These videos will be posted on
the class webpage after class.
Starting the third week
of classes (1/27), poppers will be given IN THE NOTES. You will watch
the video for each day and answer the
poppers given in that video (popper questions will also
be posted in the completed notes). Poppers will be answered on CASA under the
EMCF tab. The title of the EMCF will
correspond with the one given in the notes for each day. Note that this
means there are two sets of
popper questions given each week. You will have until 11:59pm on
the Saturday of the same week to complete the poppers.
Problem sessions: I will be online live on Thursdays from 4-5:30 pm. I will stay later if needed. During this session, I will not be
re-teaching all topics, I will
review the class notes from the week and work extra examples and then
go through any questions the class
has. Please make sure if you attend this session that you
have watched the lecture videos first.
Discussion board: Check the discussion board DAILY. The discussion board is located on CASA above the link to your textbook.
Use this forum to ask questions and
help each other. You can also use it to form study groups. I will post
announcements here too.
Other Info: The classes will incorporate technology into many of
the lessons. You should have a graphing calculator (TI 83 or 84 is best)
and/or
access to R-Studio software. Here is a video on how to install R and R-Studio.
