Current Course Offerings: You can find an up-to-date list of the Mathematics Department's Fall graduate and 4000 level undergraduate courses from our web-site. Use this list and these course/section numbers in deciding on your courses for the Fall semester.

Each course has a four-digit course number. The first digit indicates the course level. Courses beginning with 3 are junior undergraduate courses; beginning with 4 are senior undergraduate courses; beginning with a 5 or more are graduate courses. The second digit in the course number indicates how many credit hours that course is worth. Typically each course has 3 credit hours. As examples, 4311 indicates a 3 credit undergraduate course, while 5311 is a 3 credit graduate course.

If you are a teaching fellow (TF), research assistant (RA), or teaching assistant (TA), then you must enroll for 9 credit hours , ususally at the senior or graduate level. Both the Graduate Advisor, Ms. Pamela Draughn (651A PGH) and Dr. Ji (651D) will be happy to advise you on possible choices.

Generally, a small number of undergraduate hours can be counted towards your graduate degree, but this number will depend on your particular degree program. For the exact rules on undergraduate hours for your degree program, consult your Graduate Catalog or look under degree programs on the Math website.

Course Selection Form : After you have determined the courses that you wish to take, fill out the Course Selection Form.

In case your selection does not match with the requirements, the Director of Graduate Studies(DGS) will disapprove it. In that case, you have to change your selection.

Drs. Henry Decell and Matthew O'Malley are responsible for your teaching assignment. Since this will depend on the classes you are taking, the earlier we have your Course Selection Form, the better is your chance of getting a teaching assignment that fits with your schedule.

This Course Schedule Form is for Departmental purposes only. You must still go through the official University registration to actually be enrolled in your courses . You can enroll your classes on-line, or by telephone. You may consult your Fall Class Schedule for information on On-line or VIP Schedule.

During your University orientation you will receive instructions on how to register for courses. This information can also be found in the University course schedule or UH Web Site.
