Department of Mathematics:
Scholarships General
scholarship information can be obtained by contacting
the UH Financial Aid Office.
The Department of Mathematics annually awards
two scholarships, the Charles P. Benner Scholarship
and the Blanche Grover Scholarship, to advanced
undergraduate math majors selected by a committee
of faculty members.
Student
Loans A variety of student loans are available.
Information can be obtained by contacting the UH
Financial Aid Office.
Graders
/ Teaching Assistants / MathLab Undergraduates with a substantial number
of hours in mathematics may be employed as graders
or teaching assistants. Applications can be obtained
at the main office in room 651 PGH. Priority
is given to students majoring in mathematics.
In order to qualify for a waiver of out of state
tuition rates, teaching assistants, graders,
and tutors must be employed 20 hours per week
and they must be either majoring or minoring
in mathematics. Mathematics minors must have
a previously approved minor plan on file with
the Department of Mathematics.
The MathLab facility operated by the Department
of Mathematics also employs qualified undergraduates
as tutors. Additional information is available
at the main office.
