Abstract
|
|
Brayan Gutierrez: I will be talking about my
experience as an undergraduate so far, and my journey in undergraduate
research. This journey started at Lone Star College and has continued
to the present including an experience in the Summer Undergraduate
Research Fellowship (SURF) program. I will also talk about how these
experiences have influenced my plans for graduate study.
Christin Silos: I am a data scientist and Biostatistician for the Baylor College of Medicine Pediatric Nephrology department in conjunction with Texas Children's Hospital. I will discuss my career path on how I went from my
bachelor's degree in mathematics to being an employee pursuing my
mathematics PhD at the University of Houston.
Faculty from the UH Math Department will answer questions about research/REUs/etc.
Pizza will be served.
Colloquium sponsored by the NSM Dean's office DUSEM grant
