This is a first lecture in a series whose purpuse it to present how methods
of (Functional) Analysis are used to prove decay of correlations and
related results (e.g., statistical limit theorems) for Dynamical Systems.
The lectures/reading seminar are aimed at a general audience, to provide an
introduction for non-specialists as well.
