Dynamical Systems Seminar

Abstract

In this talk we'll discuss the Furstenberg entropy of non-singular actions and in particular, the existence of arbitrarily small entropy values, for a given group. Apparently, not having small entropy values characterizes Kazhdan's property (T) of countable groups. I'll define and explain the mentioned notions, so it will be accessible to anyone interested in group actions. Joint work with Lewis Bowen and Omer Tamuz.
