Sedimentation of 240 circular particles:
Here we present a 2D numerical simulation of 240 circular particle
in a rectangular channel obtained by a distributed
Lagrange multipliers/fictitious domain method.
Geometry, parameters, initial and boundary conditions:
- We choose no-slip boundary conditions on the boundary of this close channel.
- The x and y dimensions of a closed channel are 3.2 and 20.2 inches.
- Circular particles are initially located at given positions called crystal configuration at the top of box.
- Radii of 240 circular particles are 0.125 inch.
- The density of particle is 1.14.
- The density of fluid is 1.
- The viscosity of fluid is 0.01.
- At the beginning, fluid and particles are at rest.
