Hotels

If you are an invited speaker or are receiving lodging as part of your support from the conference, we will book you a room at the UH Hilton and pay for it directly. Speakers will have individual rooms, and supported participants will be booked two to a room (with two beds in each room). All rooms have their own bathroom.

If your lodging is not being supported by the conference, you will have to book and pay for your own accommodations. Two possibilities for lodging are the UH Hilton and the Wyndham-Medical Center.

UH Hilton

This hotel is approximately a 5-10 minute walk to the math department and where the conference will be held. Guests may park in the UH Hilton Parking Garage located underneath the Hilton. If you are unsupported and making your own reservations, the room rates are typically $150 per night, although the price is highly variable based on availability and events that may be occurring on campus. If you are staying at the Hilton, you have complimentary access to the UH campus Recreation Center. Visit the front desk of the hotel to ask about your free Rec Center pass.

Wyndham-Medical Center

This hotel is located at 6800 Main Street, Houston, TX 77030. The phone number is (+1) (713)-528-7744, and the room rate is approximately $100 per night. Participants staying at the Wyndham-Medical Center will need to provide their own transportation to and from the UH campus. If you have a car, it takes about 15 minutes to get to the UH campus plus 10 minutes to walk from the parking garage to the conference room. There is also a bus stop across Main St., right next to Bank of America at Greenspoint Transit Center (TC). To get to the UH campus, take the 056 bus to Richmond and Montrose, transfer to the 025 bus and get off at Scott St. and Wheeler, and then walk a few blocks to the University of Houston campus. Parking

Guests at the UH Hilton can park at the UH Hilton parking garage located underneath the Hilton. Parking here is $20.00 per day. Other participants can pay to park for the day at the Welcome Center Garage (see campus map below for location). The cost for this is $12 per day. During the weekend, parking on campus is free in all ungated lots. WARNING: if you arrive Sunday and park at an ungated lot for free, you MUST move your vehicle to one of the options above by 8:00AM Monday morning.

WiFi Access on Campus

There are a few options for free WiFi on campus.

• "UHWireless" Network. This is the University of Houston's Public (open) WiFi network. It is available in most buildings on campus. Simply choose "UHWireless" when selecting a network. No password is necessary.
• The "eduroam" Network. If you are a member of an eduroam institution, you can the connect to the eduroam network by following these instructions.
• Restaurants. All restaurants in the strip mall adjacent to campus (listed as Food Location A on the campus map above) have their own complimentary WiFi services. In particular, there is a coffee shop called "The Nook" that allows you to sit and use the internet as long as you would like.
